Length of game

I wanted to discuss the length of our games, and the many delays that prolong it.  We start at 7:30 so the game really shouldn’t go past 11:30. I think 4 hours is a good time frame for a decent game.

Im going to suggest afew things to assist in speeding up the games. I don’t want this to be voted on nor do I think it should be. As we are all friends I think respecting each other’s time should just be automatically.

1. Phones, if you got cards in play, your phone shouldnt be in your hands. Waiting for players to finish a text when it’s their turn, or having to update the player on what’s happened in the hand so far because they aren’t paying attention is one of the largest time wasters at the table.

2. If you draw a seat in the middle of the table, it’s your responsibility to assist the dealer in passing the cards down the table, passing the pot to the winner and the muck pile to the new dealer, so again put the phone down for 10 seconds and help out.

3. Distracting the dealer, leave the man alone and let him deal.

4. Distracting players in the hand. Let them play the hand, talk after.

As Winter comes and we start later its even more important we cut all the extra time off the game that we can

Thank you.
