Ok Gents I would like to in a calm and rational way bring up the subject of re buys. (save the jokes)
We start the game with 10,000 chips (25-50) blinds – that equals 200 big blinds (that is plenty)
If you re buy later Example: 5,000 chips (200-400) blinds – that equals 12.5 big blinds (for the same price???)
It is my opinion that if we gave bigger re buys people would probably play smarter. 5k on tilt really only leaves you with one move, jamming it all in, this will either result in a bogus double up or a 5k gift for ONE other person. Either way it’s shitty for the players who have managed their stack all game and don’t have deep pockets to play so loose.
The idea that a player can be “OUT” and then re buy 2-3 times eventually get lucky enough to knock out someone who has played better and protected his stack is unfair.
Either increase the re buy chips or eliminate them. I think it is the last Donkey part of our game.
I also feel once you have busted out you should be inelligable for any points that night. This will discourage some from re buying.
The question is do we want to give busted players a chance to get back in to take YOUR chips or send them packing?
Peace.
It looks like no one can agree, everyone has their own opinion of what’s best and because there is no clear majority on any of the ideas put forth… until then I guess there can be no change?
Somebody is stirring the pot because he is not aloud to email
I vote in favour of Wayne’s proposal.
An extra $2500 chips is nothing at 200/400 blind levels
Actually…Wait for it… I’m ok with 5000 and a top up of 7500 and rebuy of 7500 if it shuts people up. But not $40 for the buy in. I would keep it at $30. But only if both top up and rebuy are 7500. I think that keeps it fair.
We have to discuss if 2500 more chips per person change the length of the game?
NO changing of the rules unless decided before a special game starts.
Saying that I think we have voted on increasing the buy in.
The $40 initial buy-in was entered in error here. It was supposed to stay at the $30. I will see if I can edit my suggestion.
I also agree with Wayne’s proposal.
Are you going to take me home tonight?
Ah, down beside that red fire light
Are you gonna let it all hang out?
Fat bottom girls you make the rocking world go round
Hey, I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew love before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Hey, bug woman you made a man out of me
I would like to get a vote on my proposal that I have mentioned several times now but never actually asked for a vote on.
– initial buy-in of $40 gets you $5000 with a $7500 top up. One rebuy per person maximum before top up time for $30 for $7500. No votes on additional rebuts unless it is decided before the start of the game because the game is deemed to be a special event.
Let the voting begin.
Yes to one rebuy but only if it’s 10k
In a democratic group, all eligible members have the right to participate, either directly or indirectly, in making the decisions that affect them. Propps to the 4 that voiced their opinion and I will respect the results. Al
Lets stick to the rules. Changing them each game isn’t fair. One re-buy before top up. No exceptions.

So to answer AL…
This was discussed and voted on just before the last Cup run.
Consensus was no change to rebuys.
However it has been leaking to multiple rebuys that are voted at the table when requested or multiple rebuys without asking (I’m all in 😉 )
I vote to put it back to the original1 1 rebuy until top ups.
For me it’s entertainment vslue 60-75 % of hands played.
There are some that play so tight that they think they are playing Jacks or better instead of Hold em.
I think its a happy medium
I think who ever wrote this should at least identify themselves so we know who we are addressing. Having said that I agree with almost everything they said. I agree one rebuy per person but I do have a few suggestions. I would like to see the top up moved to $7500 and the one rebuy moved to $7500 for $30. This is not really much of a change but if we do this and then stick to a hard one rebuy per person maximum then it gives everyone a little more to play with if they get that first bad beat. It also gives those that do want to rebuy a little bit more to have a half a chance if they do rebuy. I do not agree with the no points if you rebuy, this was already voted on and lost and should stay like that.
My opinion is that we stick with the rules. That is ONLY ONE BUY IN!
I voted against points for re-buys but again it was voted on.
If it’s a special event then we can bend the rules. This is supposed be be a friendly game however, if you’ve busted twice you’re out. Changing the rules mid game hurts players that are following the rules. I don’t think giving more chips is going to change the play of those who want to bust to buy more.
Who wrote this post I’m assuming it was Al? or Rich?
